Allie & Emily’s surprise mountain proposal at Beaver Creek Ski Resort, Colorado
How we planned it
This mountain proposal at Beaver Creek Mountain was such an incredible time! Allie contacted me just two days before. They had decided to do a spontaneous trip to the mountains and Allie knew it would be the perfect time to pop the big question! I suggested the top of Beaver Creek mountain via the scenic gondola ride. This is a great activity for anyone visiting the Beaver Creek or Vail area!
I live walking distance to Beaver Creek (solid perk!). I hopped on the chairlift the morning of the proposal to send Allie video instructions for exactly where to go. This helped it be as smooth and stress free as possible for her since there wasn’t time to meet beforehand. Later in the day, the big moment was getting closer!
The Proposal
It was a beautiful, warm, sunny September afternoon and I couldn’t have been more excited! Tony (my fiance) tagged along with me. We walked over to the mountain and up the gondola to get ready for the big moment. I had Allie sneak a cell photo of what they were wearing so I would know who to look for! As we saw Allie and Emilie approaching, Tony and I pretended to be just another visiting couple enjoying the view. We kept our cameras at hand until Allie popped the question and Emily said, “Yes!” After, we explored the mountain a bit for engagement photos and popped some champagne to celebrate the newly engaged couple!
