A list of the best wedding venues in the Vail area of Colorado for your small wedding or elopement with friends and family
If you are looking for a wedding venue in the Vail area of Colorado for your small wedding or elopement, you are in the right place. Wether you want to say ‘I Do’ at the top of a mountain, along a mountain pass, or surrounded by pine trees – the Vail area has it all. The Vail area also includes the surrounding towns of Minturn, Eagle-Vail, Avon, Beaver Creek, Edwards, and Eagle. With two ski resorts and endless mountain ceremony options, there is something for everyone.
As a local Vail elopement photographer, I’ve spent the last few years exploring all that Vail and our surrounding towns have to offer, which also happen to be home to some of Colorado’s most spectacular wedding venues! So I’ve compiled a list of the Vail area’s very best wedding venues just for you.
Here we go!
The Best Vail Wedding Venues
Vail Mountain Ski Resort / Vail Wedding Deck
The Vail Wedding Deck is most definitely a sight to be seen! Arguably the most popular and iconic Vail wedding venue, it sits at the top of Vail Ski Resort. Vail mountain is a HUGE mountain with 360 panoramic mountain views. A gondola ride will bring you and your guests to the top of the mountain (heck yes to gondola rides on your wedding day!). Once at the top, you will be greeted by sweeping views of Vail’s famous 14er Mt. of the Holy Cross. This also serves as the ceremony backdrop. Turn around and you will find equally stunning views of the Gore Range.
Time of year : The ceremony site is available for reservations during the summer months when the gondolas are running the beginning of July through the end of September

Camp Hale
Camp Hale is an absolutely epic wedding venue. The ceremony site is nestled in the mountains between Vail and Leadville. With zero cell service and nothing but mountains around the venue, Camp Hale is the perfect location for those who want to submerge themselves into the mountains with their most cherished people. Nova Guides is based at Camp Hale and offers Jeep tours up the mountain’s 4×4 roads. Many couples choose to do this option to have their first look at the top of the mountain! The ceremony site is nestled in a calm stream-like river with a bridge to the aisle. This Vail wedding venue is truly the perfect blend of romance and adventure! I love Camp Hale!
Time of year : Camp Hale hosts weddings during the summer – early fall months

Piney River Ranch
Piney River Ranch is a local favorite, and it’s easy to see why! With an alpine lake view of the Gore Range, Piney is an absolutely jaw-dropping place to say ‘I do.’ Located down a long dirt road, you can stay on site in one of their cabins which will make you feel like you have the entire mountain to yourself in the evenings after they close to daytime visitors. Not to mention having access to canoes for sunset wedding portraits!
Time of Year : Piney River Ranch hosts weddings from June 21 through the last weekend of September
Julia’s Deck
Julia’s Deck is an absolutely gorgeous and romantic spot for a micro wedding with your small group. It is located down a dirt road mountain pass and is accessed through an adorable (handicap accessible!) path through the pine trees. In that area you will find a perfect balance of thick pine forest, expansive rolling meadows, and wild mountain views. What could be better!
Time of year : Julia’s Deck is off of a dirt road mountain pass so it can be reserved during the summer months as that is when the pass becomes accessible to vehicle traffic!
Beaver Creek Ski Resort / Beaver Creek Wedding Deck
Vail’s neighbor ski resort, Beaver Creek wedding deck is another gorgeous mountain top ceremony site! You can choose between a gondola or chairlift ride to the top of the mountain. At the top, you will be greeted with 360 degree panoramic views. Beaver Creek is a bit more lowkey than it’s Vail neighbor, which is what I personally love about it! I may be a bit partial as I live at the base of this mountain, but I think it’s safe to say it is an absolutely stunning place to say ‘I do!’
Time of Year : Beaver Creek Wedding Deck is available to reservations for July-September when the summer gondolas are running.
Bearcat Stables
Located in the surrounding town of Edwards, Bearcat Stables is a beautiful Vail valley venue! They have been called “Vail Valley’s Most Unique Outdoor Venue.” They hold 3 acres of groomed meadow, horse stables, an outdoor dance floor. Bearcat Stables has all of the quaint, cozy, outdoorsy vibes that make you feel right at home! They also have several different ceremony options so you can pick the perfect spot for you.
Time of Year : Bearcat Stables is available for reservation May-October
