This intimate wedding at The Lodge at Breckenridge was seriously the best day ever!

The First Look

It was a perfect 55 degree blue bird sky kind of Colorado day on the mountain. I arrived at Beaver Run Resort, where Emilie & Scott were staying, for their first look. Beaver Run is a ski in ski out hotel with a chair lift just outside the building so there is quite a lot going on at the base! There was a quiet patch of trees across the way, one of the ski patrollers agreed to shadow us from oncoming skiers so we could do their first look there, as normally they don’t allow foot traffic. Lucky us! We also found out there had been a moose in that patch of trees earlier that day, wild!

After I set Scott up, Emilie made her way out of the hotel. First looks are so exciting! It’s also always super fun watching onlookers react to a beautiful bride on her wedding day. Excited strangers have a way of giving that extra boost of morale!

Adventure Portraits at the top of Breckenridge Ski Resort Mountain

After a super sweet first look, we made our way to the Beaver Run Super Chair, which had only become the plan a few days prior! I had met up with Emilie a few days before the wedding to scout out a first look spot which is when I found out there is a chair lift right next to the hotel! I remembered them mentioning during their adventure engagement session that they loved the idea of a chairlift on their wedding day.

All three of us had the Epic Pass so when I saw the chairlift I checked in with the lift guys to see if we would be allowed to hop on the chairlift and come back down it. It’s super common to do during the summer months but I’ve never seen it done during winter months. When they said it was no problem I was so excited to be able to make that happen for them!

Nothing quite compares to the stoke of shredders on a bluebird sky Colorado day on the mountain, the kind of day where you can just throw on a sweatshirt and ride. Every single person that passed Emilie & Scott on the chairlift and at the top of the mountain was screaming CONGRATULATIONS! We braved the classic Breckenridge winds and ran around the top of Breckenridge Ski Mountain with all the skiers and snowboarders before making our way back down the chairlift to head to their ceremony at The Lodge, one of the world’s highest altitude wedding venues and a perfect spot for an intimate Colorado mountain ceremony!

Emilie & Scott exchanged their vows on the Sky View Deck with their closest family and friends by their side. After just a short time with their family, it was very obvious how Emilie & Scott turned out to be such lovely people as they brought so much positive energy and excitement to the whole experience. Everyone was such a dream to work with!

Sunset Portraits

After their sweet intimate ceremony, we wandered around for their sunset photos as husband and wife! Then they went into The Lodge to celebrate with their closest and most cherished people.
