Emilie & Scott’s Adventure Engagement Session in Breckenridge, Colorado
This adventure session was a wild one and a true testament to how crazy Colorado mountain weather can be! There is a saying here in Colorado: “If you don’t like the weather, just wait 5 minutes,” and this session was a classic example. We met up in my favorite town, Breckenridge, before making our way to the mountains. We started at Sapphire Point, with chilly air and completely overcast skies. Then, out of nowhere, dreamy rays of sunshine started pouring through the clouds… we took full advantage of those moments while we could! Then, within the span of about 10 minutes, we watched clouds rolling in over the mountain horizon as we made our way down to the lake shore and got blasted with freezing winds and stormy skies. About five minutes later the views became completely socked in with snow! I’m personally fascinated by how extreme the weather patterns change in the mountains and I absolutely love witnessing and experiencing it first hand, which I get to do quite often nowadays living up here. There’s just nothing quite like mountain weather! And that’s what adventure sessions are all about, embracing the elements and having a blast in a wild place with the person you love most.
Emilie & Scott (and their doggo Champ of course!) were true adventurers and embraced every second of the wild weather changes with nothing but smiles. From dreamy rays of sunshine to PNW style stormy vibes to a winter wonderland snowfall, we got a little bit of everything. I had SO much fun with them and truly can’t wait to document their intimate wedding at the Lodge in Breckenridge this March!
